Unitarian Universalist Association Trustee from the Southeast District of the UUA
Rev. Jake Bohstedt Morrill has served the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church since 2003. Growing up at Tennessee Valley UU Church in Knoxville, Jake attended numerous youth cons, so he can proudly say he has slept on the floor of many a Southeast District congregation!
Jake has degrees from the University of Texas, the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and Harvard Divinity School. He directs a summer camp, the Appalachian Institute for Creative Learning, at Warren Wilson College near Asheville, and has served as a Trustee of the Race Relations Center of East Tennessee. With his wife, Molly, Jake is raising two energetic and soulful boys--with lots of help from nearby family!
While Jake is grateful for the chance to serve our faith in this role, he knows that the real strength in our movement radiates out from local congregations serving the Spirit of Love in their own communities. He looks forward to finding ways to support and encourage that strength and that love.
