Southeast District Launches Bending the Arc Campaign
Our congregations have an incredible legacy of "putting our hands on the arc" and bending it toward justice. "Bending the Arc" is a three year, $250,000 campaign to continue the bold legacy of Unitarian Universalist justice work in the Southeast. In 2010, the Southeast District Board authorized the hiring of a Racial and Social Justice Coordinator to take our racial and social justice work to the next level.
Look at the facts of the world. You see a continual and progressive triumph of the right. I do not pretend to understand the moral universe; the arc is a long one, my eye reaches but little ways; I cannot calculate the curve and complete the figure by the experience of sight; I can divine it by conscience. And from what I see I am sure it bends towards justice. Things refuse to be mismanaged long. ---Rev. Theodore Parker Unitarian minister, 1853
